Day 5 of 7 AIs I use as a PM:
Mixpanel.
Users say one thing.
Then they do another.
That’s not because users lie.
It’s because behavior is more honest than memory.
That’s why product analytics matters.
Mixpanel helps answer questions like:
Where do users drop off?
Which actions predict retention?
What features are actually used?
What looks popular but doesn’t create value?
What path do power users take that others don’t?
This is where product gets uncomfortable.
Because the dashboard doesn’t care how good your idea sounded in the meeting.
It shows what happened.
Sometimes the feature you loved gets ignored.
Sometimes the small thing you almost didn’t build drives activation.
Sometimes users find value in a way your roadmap never predicted.
That’s the fun part.
Analytics turns product from opinion into learning.
But only if you ask good questions.
Bad question:
“How many people clicked this?”
Better question:
“Did this action make users more likely to reach the outcome?”
That’s the shift.
Metrics are not decoration for a product review.
They are feedback loops.
And great PMs don’t just check dashboards.
They build better questions from them.
